Locala Sexual Health
Locala is a Health & Wellbeing's Sexual Health Outreach Team based in Tameside and in Tameside. They can offer you help and support with sexual health services such as STI testing and preventions as well as access to contraception.

Locala Sexual Health services are free and confidential
As part of the care they provide, they offer free, confidential sexual health services and support to people living in Tameside. This includes access to testing, treatment, contraception and advice, helping individuals make informed choices about their sexual health. You don’t need a referral from your GP, and information from your visit won’t be shared with them or added to your general medical record unless you ask them to, give your permission, or if there are concerns that you’re putting yourself or others at risk of serious harm.
What can Locala Sexual Health services in Tameside provide?
STI & HIV testing, contraception, emergency contraception, PrEP/ PEP, pregnancy testing, vaccination services & free external/ internal condoms, dental dams, and lube. If you’re not sure what you need, make an appointment for a discussion with clinicians, or use the ChatHealth service

How to access Locala Sexual Health services in Tameside?
Call from 08:30am to book an appointment on 0161 507 9460. If you're under 18, you can also use the ‘queue & wait’ clinic every Tuesday from 15:30 to 18:30. Keep an eye on the website and social media for updates, including details of local ‘queue & wait’ clinics for all ages.
Clinic
In Tameside, Locala are based at The Orange Rooms- 2nd Floor, 193 Old Street, OL6 7SR. The phone lines are open Monday- Friday, 08:30-16:00. To book an appointment, you should call at 08:30am. Walkins are welcome for emergency contraception and PEP.
Pop-Up Clinics
Locala have several pop-up clinics across Tameside. These are walk-in clinics, so no appointments are needed. They run on a first-come first-serve basis and are often well attended. They welcome anyone with sexual health concerns. They offer STI tests, contraception, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception, PEP/ PrEP, and coil removals.
- Healthy Hyde, Hyde- every 2nd Monday of the month, 14:30-17:30
- St. Andrews Medical House, Stalybridge- every 4th Monday of the month, 14:30-17:30
Under 18s Clinics
Locala offer an under-18s walk-in clinic every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, no appointment needed. This clinic provides a safe, friendly, and private space for young people to seek advice or support with any sexual health concerns.
