Tameside Safeguarding Children Partnership

Training

Welcome to TSCP training area.

If you work for or volunteer with a service in the Tameside where you come into direct contact with children, young people and their families, you can access and book onto a range of face-to-face and online training courses relevant to safeguarding children.

Multi-agency training helps practitioners and volunteers understand their roles, responsibilities and safeguarding procedures; and creates a shared understanding of assessment and decision-making practices. It is important that when selecting training courses, you check that the course content is relevant to your role, experience and responsibilities. By checking the learning aims and objectives you can establish if the course will meet your requirements from a safeguarding perspective. Some of the courses may require you to complete eLearning before attending a face-to-face event.

TSCP have developed a Learning and Development Framework.  which shares how the partnership will quality assure, and review learning delivered to everyone who works and volunteers with children, young people and their families.

Book a Course

We offer free multi-agency training programmes to practitioners and volunteers who work with children and or their families in Tameside. Our training offer includes face to face and online training to assist practitioners in understanding their roles and responsibilities and create a shared understanding of assessment and decision-making practices. Please note we don’t deliver single agency training.

Register for E-learning

TSCP have developed an online learning area in conjunction with Virtual College. Through the on-learning link, you will be able to access a range of safeguarding learning opportunities.

To access the training, you will need to register via Enable Registration - Enable

Eventbrite

You will need to use an email with your up-to-date title and name when registering with Eventbrite as this is the information we will use when creating the certificates. It will also mean that your course attendance history will be held on Eventbrite under your log in details. TSCP does not have access to your Eventbrite account, so it is essential your manager keeps a record of attendance, if required.

Learning from Practice

When something happens that shows partner services have not worked together to effectively safeguard adults or children, we aim to ‘learn from practice’ and improve so that similar issues do not occur in the future.

If you have any questions regarding learning, or if you are having trouble accessing your account, please contact the team at tscp@tameside.gov.uk or 0161 342 4348

All our other training is accessed by accessing the links and booking on using Eventbrite

Participants will hear a brief overview of local findings, engage with lived‑experience practitioners sharing harm‑reduction strategies, and explore the wider social and service pressures shaping young people’s drug use. Through polls, discussion, and Q&A, attendees will examine national‑relevance recommendations and consider how safeguarding, education, health, and community partners can work together to reduce risk and strengthen harm reduction.
